Pastor Leonard Slater, a native of Montgomery, AL, is the son of the late Arthur B. and Tommie B. Slater. He has been married for 38 years to his lovely companion and best friend, Dianne Slater, and they have one son, Justin. Leonard Slater serves as Senior Pastor and founder of Family Life Bible Fellowship (FLBF) Church.
He graduated from Sidney Lanier High School and attended John Patterson Technical College and Samford University Extension College.
He received his call to the ministry in 1980, licensed in 1992, and ordained in 1994. Pastor Slater’s ministerial tutelage included 13 years with Freedom Life Ministries under the leadership of the late Bishop Donald J. Ritchie and 9 years as a senior associate with the Antioch Baptist Church, Mt. Meigs, AL, under the leadership of Rev. Johnny J. Hollis, Jr.
In August 2001 under a mandate from God and His guidance and directions, plans were implemented by Pastor Leonard Slater and four other families for the birth of the new ministry, FLBF Church.
